Problem

The consumer goods company has their own e-commerce site but they also sell through various other retailers and market places. The product information and related data such as product safety information, marketing content and images are ingested from various sources such as Excel files, SAP and custom applications. This has to be consistent across all sales channels

Requirement

This is an implementation of a Product Content Management System. The PCM solution has to be built on the hybris e-commerce suite and to aggregate product information from variety of data sources, enrich the content and distribute the enriched information to various retailers.

Approach

Bala, as part of Infosys, lead the Architecture consulting during application development. He defined the data model, analyzed and recommended strategies for integration with external systems such as SAP and Digital Asset Management. He implemented validation constraints, synchronisation rules and import logic. He also interacted with the client architects to understand the challenges and suggested effective solutions
